The USABF
returns to desert during the 2009 Memorial Day weekend for its
annual Southern California Challenge. The tournament features
competitive play in four age divisions at some of the finest venues
in the Palm Springs area, including Palm Springs Stadium (left), the
College of the Desert and selected high school stadiums.

In addition
to individual golfer awards, each four-man golf team will represent
a baseball team in the San Diego Elite Baseball League (SDEBL) or a
team planning to play in an upcoming USABF tournament. Winning teams
will receive entry fee credits to play in any of these affiliated
tournaments: USABF, Continental Amateur Baseball Federation (CABA),
National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF), American Amateur
Baseball Congress (AABC - Mickey Mantle and Connie Mac) and Pony
Baseball (Colt and Palomino).

successful Inaugural Capital Classic during the summer of 2008, the
USABF is returning to the McAuliffe Baseball Complex in Sacramento for
two tournaments in 2009 - the Northern California Kickoff and the
Capital Classic.

The San
Diego Elite Baseball (SDEBL) has expanded its summer league program
in San Diego to four divisions:
18-Under Elite, 16-Under, 15-Under and Academy. The Academy division
features players who still have high school eligibility for the 2010
high school baseball season.

The 2009
AABC Mickey Mantle Regional will be held in San Diego on July 22-26,
with the winner advancing to the Mickey Mantle World Series in
McKinney, TX

A provider of quality tournaments since 1994, the USABF routinely
attracts top-flight travel baseball teams from around the nation.
The USABF features a mixture of wood bat and aluminum bat
tournaments directed at age groups from 14 and under through 18 and
under. The USABF manages two sister organizations, the San Diego Elite Baseball
League (see item below) and Junior Baseball of America,
which hosts a national championship for age brackets of 10U, 11U,
12U and 13U in late July.
