The USABF uses a common age cutoff date. A player's age for USABF participation shall be the same as his age on the April 30 preceding the USABF tournament.

Example:

If a player is16 on or before April 30, he can play in the 16-Under USABF tournament division no matter when he turns 17 after the April 30 date.  If he turns 17 before or on April 30, that player would be eligible to play in the 18-under USABF tournament division. Contact the USABF for further clarification (619) 934-2551.
