Aloha:   The United States Amateur is pleased to announce its newest Field Director; Victor Yamasaki residing in Mililani HI.  Victor has been a longtime participant and supporter of the USABF as well as the Director of the West Oahu Baseball Club.  Victor brings many years of experience as well as Island expertise to our staff and we feel honored to have him as a personal representative.  Please feel free to contact Victor at (808) 623-5768 or e-mail at victor@usabf.com for any assistance necessary in making your trip a successful one. The Classic will once again be hosted by the West Oahu Baseball Club sanctioned under the United States Amateur Baseball Federation and its rules.

 

Tournament Entry Fee:    This year’s entry fee is $700.00

 

Game Guarantee:  It is a 5-game guarantee with a minimum of 2 officials per game.

 

Island Transportation / Activities:  Island transportation will be provided by the Yamajuchi Bus Service.  They will be available for transportation throughout the Island for your personal activities as well as Airport pick up - to and from the Hotel.  The exact rates are presently being negotiated with more information to be available in the near future.

 

Tournament Central:  Will be located at  West Oahu Regional Park, Tournament Central  will be open and available to provide you with the most up to date information one hour prior to the first game till the completion of each day’s games.

 

Check-in:  Each team is required to check-in with their final roster and certificate of insurance one hour prior to their first game.  If you don’t have proof of insurance you will be required to purchase coverage (Cost is $189.00).  This policy will be good for the entire 2009 season (December 31, 2009).

 

Manager’s Meeting:  This year’s manager / coach’s meeting will be held Sunday evening.  The exact time and location will be announced at a later date.

 

Schedule:  The tournament schedule will be available July 1, 2008.  You can access the schedule at WWW.USABF.COM. 

 

Sunday July 5, 2009: This will be a travel day for most mainland teams.  Most players will be traveling Sunday July 5, 2009.  It is a long trip but well worth it once you arrive.

 

Monday July 6 - Wednesday July 8, 2009:  Each team will play at least 1 game each day with a participant BBQ to follow after each teams game on Monday.  This BBQ is for the Player and Coaching Staff only.  There will be a Snack-Bar available for everyone else. 

 

Thursday, July 9, 2009:   Is a Tour/Adventure day, everyone should visit the Arizona Memorial in short this is a must as well to enjoy the entire island.  

 

Friday July 10 - Sunday July 12, 2009:     All teams will advance to the elimination round the championship game will be played Sunday.

 

Monday July13, 2009:   Teams should make arrangements to depart for the mainland with fond memories, new friendships and the cultural experience they have had.

 

Playing Facilities: The USABF is proud of its playing facilities.  A majority of the games will be played at The West Oahu State Park, a Super Multi-Sports Complex.  Each field receives complete field maintenance before and after every game, indoor restrooms are available. 

 

Admission:  There is no admission at the West Oahu Regional Park.  Presently the USABF is in the process of contracting a Stadium facility, if games are played at this facility there will be a $5.00 daily admission fee.  All teams will be advised prior to their arrival of this fee.

 

Snack Bar:  The West Oahu Baseball Club will be operating a full snack bar for everyone’s enjoyment please support it as this is one of the many ways in which they raise funds for their annual mainland participation.

 

Event Handbook:  All teams will be given a copy of the Manager’s Handbook.  This year’s issue will include the 2009 Master Tournament Schedule, directions to all playing facilities, the tournament rules, and schedule. 

 

Tournament Roster:  Roster limit is 22 players, Please download the Official Roster Form from our website. This form is optional and should you prefer to use your own version, please ensure that the players name, birth date, address and uniform number are included.  incomplete rosterS will not be ACCEPTED.  Program rosters are very important for the many followers including Major League Scouts, College Coaches, Sponsors, and Supporters. Remember, this is NOT your OFFICIAL ROSTER; your Official Tournament Roster is due at Check-in. You must submit a roster for the program no later than July 1, 2009.  You can either send it via e-mail at usabf@cox.net or fax it to our Corporate Office at (619) 271-6659. 

 

Lodging:  This year’s host hotel for the Hawaiian Classic is the Pacific Beach Hotel    you are not required to stay there but certainly encouraged, a special discount rate has is being contracted.  This property is centrally located within the Downtown Honolulu area and within walking distance to everyone’s favorite, the Beach
