Play Ball: Welcome to San Diego, Americas Finest City, Home of the 2009 Open Wood Bat World Series.
Tournament Entry Fee:
$1,500 for up to 16 players. Rosters may be larger than 16
players for a cost of $95 per additional player. There is a $35
charge for each Manager, Coach, and Scorekeeper.
Included in Entry Fee:
Two dozen baseballs, T-shirts for all participants, the USABF
Managers Handbook, Game Line-up cards and Score books.
Tournament Central:
Will be located at a site yet to be determined, Tournament
Central will be open and available daily to provide you with the
most up to date information and directions one hour prior to the
first game till the completion of each day’s games.
Check-in:
Tournament check-in will be conducted at Tournament Central.
Each team is required to check-in Sunday, July 26, 2009 between 12
noon and 6:00 pm. During the check-in, each team will be required to
submit their final roster and certificate of insurance.
If you don’t have proof of insurance you will be required to
purchase one (Cost is $189.00).
This policy will be good for the entire 2009 season ending
December 31, 2009.
Manager / Coaches Meeting:
This year’s location has not been established.
Schedule:
The tournament schedule will be available in our website on
July 21, 2009 at WWW.USABF.COM.
Each team will play 4 pool games Monday - Wednesday.
All teams will advance to Thursday and Friday’s Double
Elimination games.
Teams left on Saturday will be reseeded based on overall
win/loss percentage into single elimination.
The Championship game will be played on Sunday August 2, 2009
Playing Facilities:
The USABF is very proud of its playing facilities we believe
that the Colleges and High School facilities are second to none.
Each playing venue receives complete field maintenance before
and after every game and most have indoor restrooms and a full snack
bar.
Admission:
All Managers are reminded to ensure that parents are aware of
the
daily admission of $7 for adults and $3 for children (17 years old
and younger). Admission
is valid at all facilities for the entire day.
A tournament pass good for games played Tuesday – Saturday
will be available for $35 a savings of $12.
Passes are available at the team check-in or at the admission
table at each site.
Managers Handbook:
All teams will be given a copy of the 2009 Managers Handbook
which will include a welcome to event and pertinent information in
regard to the tournament, a schedule of pool games, a copy of the
elimination brackets, directions to all the facilities being used
and the official UASBF Rules and Regulations
Identification requirements:
Each player is required to carry some sort of personal
identification that matches the official roster.
In the event that a player is challenged he will be required
to provide proper identification.
If the player can’t provide this identification he will
become ineligible for the balance of the game.
The Player will have one hour after the completion of the
game to provide proper identification in order for the game to be
official, otherwise the team will be given a loss due to forfeit.
If this player participates in an additional game without
providing proper identification the Team will be disqualified from
the tournament.
Tournament Roster:
The tournament roster for this division is open and has no
limit. The only
restrictions are that no player be under any type of professional
contract. Any team
using a player under a professional contract will be disqualified
from the tournament. Please
download the official roster form from our website. This form is
optional and should you prefer to use your own version, please
ensure that the
players name, date of birth,
address and uniform number are included.

Program rosters are very
important for the many followers including Major League Scouts,
College Coaches, Sponsors, and Supporters. Remember, this is NOT
your OFFICIAL ROSTER. Your
Official Tournament Roster is due at Check-in. You must submit a
roster for the program no later than July 16, 2009, which you can
either send via e-mail at
usabf@cox.net or fax to our Corporate Office at 619-271-6659.
Failure to provide a roster by July 16, 2009 will be an
additional charged of $50.

The USABF has contracted various hotels within the San Diego
area. For more

Rental Car:
The USABF has contracted Enterprise Rental-A-Car as the
Official Rental Car agency for its teams and supporters.
USABF Corporate Code is
32H7159.
You will be required to enter the first three letters of the
corporate name for confirmation, please use “USA”.
Prior to booking your rental vehicles give Enterprise a
chance. You can also take advantage of our corporate discount year
round by using the corporate code and the first three letter of the
company name.
