            Play Ball  Welcome to Palm Springs, The Valley of the Sun, for the Southern California Challenge.  This event should set the standards for the rest of the year.  Best of luck in 2008.

            Tournament Entry Fee:  This year’s entry fee is $700.00 which includes a dozen baseballs and the USABF Media Guide, a 4 game guarantee with a minimum of 2 officials per game.

            Tournament Central:  Palm Springs Stadium will be Tournament Central and will be open daily to provide you with the most up-to-date information starting one hour prior to the first game until the end of the day.

Check-in:  Tournament check-in will start at 12:00 PM Friday May 23.  The first game of the tournament will start at 2:00 PM on Friday.  Each team is required to check-in at least one hour before their first game to pick up your FINAL SCHEDULE and giveaways.  Your final roster and certificate of insurance MUST be submitted at this time.  If you do not have proof of insurance you will be required to purchase one (Cost is $189.00).  This policy will be good for the entire 2008 season (through December 31, 2008)

            Schedule:  The tournament schedule will be available at our website WWW.USABF.COM no later than May 20.  Each team will play 4 pool games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.   The top 6 teams in each division will advance to Monday’s single elimination championship round.

Playing Facilities:  The USABF takes pride in its playing facilities. We believe that our college and high school facilities are second to none.  Each playing venue receives complete field maintenance before and after each game with most having indoor restrooms and a full snack bar.

Admission:  All Managers are reminded to inform their parents of the daily admission $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for students and children - 17 years or younger.  Admission is valid at all facilities for the entire day.

            Tournament Roster:  Roster limit is 22 players, Please download the official roster form our website. This form is optional and should you prefer to use your own version, please ensure that the players name, birth date, address and uniform number are included.  incomplete roster will not be ACCEPTED.   You must submit a roster for the program no later than May 20.  You can either send it via e-mail at usabf@cox.net or fax it to our Corporate Office at (619)271-6659.  Failure to provide a roster by May 20 will result in an additional $50.00 fee.  Program rosters are very important for the many followers including Major League Scouts, College Coaches, Sponsors, and Supporters. Remember, this is NOT your OFFICIAL ROSTER.  Your Official Tournament Roster is due at Check-in on May 23 at the Stadium.

            Lodging:  The USABF has again contracted various hotels through out the Valley. Please contact our corporate office for more details at (619) 934-2551.

            Rental Car Discount:  The USABF has contracted with Enterprise Rent-A-Car as the Official Rental Car agency for its teams and supporters.  Enterprise Rental Cars may be reserved through the USABF by clicking on this link Enterprise.  Prior to booking your rental vehicles give Enterprise a chance.
