            Play Ball:  Welcome to San Diego, Americas Finest City, for the Annual BADEN’S BEST OF THE BEST, sponsored by Baden Sports.  This year’s event should set the standards for the remainder of the 2008 tournament season.

Tournament Entry Fee:    This years entry fee is $800.00   included is a dozen baseballs and the  USABF Media Guide, each team is guaranteed 5 games, with a minimum of  2 officials per game.

             Tournament Central:  Tournament Central, located at Morley Field, home of San Diego City College, will be open and available to provide you with the most up-to-date information and directions from one hour prior to the first game until the completion of each day’s games.

Check-in:  Tournament check-in will be conducted at Morley Field starting at 8:00am Thursday, June 26.  Games start at 9:00 am.  Each team is required to check-in one hour before their first game submitting their final roster and certificate of insurance.  If you don’t have proof of insurance you will be required to purchase one (Cost is $189.00).  This policy will be good for the entire 2008 season (December 31, 2008)

Schedule:  The tournament schedule will be available June 15.  You can access the schedule at WWW.USABF.COM.  Each team will play 5 pool games between Thursday and  Saturday.   The top 6 teams will advance to Sunday’s (June 29) single elimination championship round.   

Playing Facilities:  The USABF is proud of its playing facilities and we believe our facilities to be second to none.  Each playing venue receives complete field maintenance before and after every game - most have indoor restrooms and a full snack bar.

Admission:  All Managers are reminded to inform their parents of the daily admission $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for students and children - 17 years or younger.  Admission is valid at all facilities for the entire day.

Media Guide:  All teams will be given a copy of the Official USABF Media Guide.  This year’s issue will include the Annual Master Tournament Schedule, directions to all the facilities in San Diego, Palm Springs, Sacramento, Yuma AZ, and Hawaii.  The Guide will include the Official Supplement to the Tournament Rules, your personal Tournament Score Sheets, Hotel and Rental Car information as well as valuable event information.  No team or fan should be without a copy.  Additional copies are available at all admission tables

            Tournament Roster:  Roster limit is 22 players, Please download the official roster form from our website. This form is optional. Should you prefer to use your own version, please include the player’s name, birth date, address and uniform number.  incomplete rosters will not be ACCEPTED.  Program rosters are very important for the many followers including Major League Scouts, College Coaches, Sponsors, and Supporters. Remember, this is NOT your OFFICIAL ROSTER, your Official Tournament Roster is due at Check-in. Your must submit a roster for the program no later than June 15.  You can either send it via e-mail at usabf@cox.net or fax it to our Corporate Office at 619-271-6659.  Failure to provide a roster by June 15 will result in an additional $50.00 fee.

            Lodging:  The USABF has contracted with various  hotels within the San Diego  area.  For more information please take a look at our accommodations page posted at www.usabf.com or contact our cooperate office at (619) 934-2551 for additional information.
